Meet Dr. Kristoffer Johnson
They say the Lord works in mysterious ways…
I attended undergraduate as a pre-med student with a passion to make a difference in this world. After four years of undergrad studies my plans were to attend the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond. The summer before I left for Grad school, a motorcycle accident sent my life hurling in a different direction. As a result of the accident I spent the next couple of months recovering from my injuries. Emergency room, physical therapy, and finally The PAIN control specialist. To no avail I still had back and neck pain with very limited range of motion in my neck. I bumped into an old friend one day from organic chemistry class and he asked what my plans were now that we were done with school. As it turns out he was going to chiropractic school in Iowa that fall and he directed me to the nearest chiropractic office. I saw results in a very short period of time and continued to recover over the next couple of months until I was pain free. The one thing that kept coming back to me was why didn’t one of those medical professionals that were treating me recommend chiropractic… it just didn’t make sense… I really felt as if they wanted to help me. That’s when I decided to look into chiropractic as a career.
My chiropractic journey
I attended Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa. I chose Palmer because of their reputation as the best chiropractic school in the world. It was here that chiropractic was invented and developed over the last 110 years. The curriculum was very challenging averaging over 28 hours a semester. That reminds me of Dr. Schmiedel; he taught one the most challenging classes: PNS (Peripheral Nervous System). His class would “weed them out” but, at the end of the day, you knew it and knew it well. I, like most, was raised from a medicine cabinet. If it hurts… take this; if you can’t breathe… take that. At chiropractic school they let you in on a little secret: everything you need is already in there. You were designed to be healthy. There is a better approach to attain and maintain health.
Our objective is to provide quality health care to as many people as possible through natural and safe chiropractic care. Our patients spread the word of the benefits of chiropractic and the quality of care they receive. We utilize state of the art technique and equipment like decompression tables, physical modalities and licensed massage therapists. We begin with an orthopedic examination and specific x-rays along with previous health records to identify health issues and determine a plan of action. We pride ourselves on turning non-believers into believers through results.
EXPLORE OUR SERVICES
Personally
I am married to Bethany and we have three children: Tanner, Finlee, and Nash is the youngest. (I believe Finlee will end up the chiropractor out of the bunch, every time I lay down she checks my leg lengths). I met my wife in 2004 when she was considering chiropractic as a career, now she has joined the Back On Track Chiropractic Downtown team. Our family attends Church of the Highlands at Grants Mill where we seek the Lord’s guidance in our practice and family life. My family also loves the water so we spend a lot of time at the pool and the beach.
I have my spine regularly checked to maintain my progress. My wife and I work out at Golds Gym three or four days a week to keep fit. We enjoy bike riding, jogging and kayaking to get our cardio in. We eat organic when possible and shop what we call the loop at Publix. Fresh vegetables, fresh meats, dairy and breads…we try to stay out of the aisles to stay healthy.
